At Upton Cross we have a school council that is run for and by the children. Two representatives from each class are elected by their class peers and it is there job to be the voice for the rest of the children in the school. They will meet regularly and discuss any projects they would like to take forward based on the opinions of the rest of the children in the school. The School Councillors will then carry out their project across the year and try to make improvements to the school.
In the past the School council have developed activities for the playground and trained up ‘playground buddies’ to ensure playtimes are running smoothly. They have also made changes within the wider school ensuring the school environment is kept tidy by all children.
The School Council feedback their work to the rest of the school through assemblies to ensure their ideas are implemented across the school.
