To help you in your choice of primary school please feel welcome to visit us. We are always happy to meet prospective parents however to make sure there is someone available, it is best to telephone the school administration staff first.
We accept names for the Nursery Class waiting lists from two years old however, we cannot guarantee a place. Nursery places are then allocated to children the term after their 3rd birthday.
Children start in a Reception Class during the year before they become five years old.

Helping your child learn
Parents can help their children learn to read by listening to them read at home regularly. Red reading books are given to every child for you to note down any comments about your child's reading. Full details are available from class teachers and they are always willing to give you further advice.
A range of texts and books are used in school and many of them and other good activity books are available at shops such as WHS, Waterstones, Wilkinson and Poundstretcher. Feel free to buy and work through educational books with your child as the extra input will be invaluable to them.
If you want to discuss your child's progress, please first of all talk to your child's class teacher. The Head and Deputy Head Teacher are also available, but the first step is always the class teacher. If you want to see any of the school staff please see the administration staff first to make an appointment.
Once a term, parent’s evenings are held where parents and carers can meet with their child’s teacher to discuss progress and look at their work books. Time slots are allocated to parents on the evening and should you have children in multiple classes, you can usually arrange to see them in sequential time slots.

Links with the home
We are very keen to develop links with parents and we encourage parents to attend school activities and to help in the classroom and around the school. If you would like to help please see any of the school staff, in particular your child’s teacher. We welcome parent’s views and ideas and incorporate these in our School Improvement Plan, which is available for parents to look at.
