Upton Cross School Council
At Upton Cross, we have a school council that is run for and by the children. Two representatives from each class are elected following their application and it is their job to be the voice for the rest of the children in their class.
The representatives meet regularly to discuss any projects or ideas they would like to take forward based on the ideas from the rest of the children in the class and school. The School Councillors will then carry out their project across the year and try to make improvements to the school.
The School Council feedback their work to the rest of the school through class assemblies to ensure their ideas are implemented across the school and communication is consistent.
We have been running the school council for a number of years now, however the past few years have proved difficult for collaboration across the school, so we are really keen to get our children back into the swing of things and improve their own school life together at Upton Cross. We believe that all stakeholders within the school should be involved in the decision making and when raising awareness.
