Autumn Term Curriculum
English
Make marks and then tell you what we have drawn. Support your child in learning to write their own name - please make sure you teach them that the first letter is a capital and the rest are lower case letters. We will be reading a range of stories and developing our understanding of different characters and how they feel. At home you can help your child by supporting and encouraging them to read with you.
Maths
Count forwards and backwards to 10. Encourage your child to count out objects around the home and to sing number songs with you such as ‘1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive.’
Learning Journey
In Autumn, we will be exploring what is important to me. They will be learning about similarities and differences in people and what they choose to celebrate. What happens at Diwali? (Celebrating). Diwali is a Hindu New Year festival.
Music
In Music we will be learning about my musical heartbeat. Every piece of music has a heartbeat - a musical heartbeat. In music, we call it the 'pulse' or the 'beat' of the music. When you are listening and singing to the music and songs in this Unit, try to find and keep the pulse or steady beat together.
